Muslims Are Evil (No they're Not)
As you all know, September 11 2001 was the day that the New York World Trade center was attack by terrorists which were known to be Arabs (Muslim).
They were known as:
1) Mohamed Elamir awad al-Sayed Atta
2)Satam Al Suqami
3) Wail M. Alshehri (Alive)
4) Waleed M. Alshehri (Alive)
5) Abdulaziz Alomari (Alive)
6) Fayez Banihammad
7) Ahmed Alghamdi
8) Hamza Alghamdi
9) Mohand Alshehri (Alive)
10) Saeed Alghamdi (Alive)
11) Ahmad Al Haznawi (Alive)
12) Marwan Al-Shehhi
13) Ziad Samir Jarrah
14) Ahmed Alnami
15) Khalid Almihdhar
16) Majed Moqed
17) Salem Alhazmi (Alive)
18) Nawaf Alhazmi
19) Hani Hanjour
As you can see, these are just names of the terrorist. There are other millions of people who come from the same country as they do, but they were not part of them. So why do they all have to be stereotyped as Terrorists?.Just because a couple of people decided to waste their lives and kill a couple of innocent people, does not mean that all Arabs and Muslims are bad.
For instance, Nigerians are known to live their life to the fullest and enjoy every bit of it (I know this because I am one). But who would have known a young wealthy Nigerian known as Abdul Mudallad would have risked his life to Hijack a plane heading to Detriot. I remember when the news broke out, everyone was shocked. They couldn't still believe that he would do such a thing.
The Nigerian terrorist was known to be muslim, and this made a lot of people to really judge the religion. Before this happened, what was normally said was "Arabs are bad". But when an Africnan went into it too, it then turned into "Muslims are bad".
At this moment, Nigerians are put on the map as terrorists just because of one man. I feel it is really sad that people have to suffer for what others did and a religion is judged because those that were caught happen to be Muslims.
Please your comments are appreciated.
America's President is Black (Nope, there is some white blood in there)
Obama made history in November 5th 2008 for being the first Black president in America. It was a day no one saw coming and no one would ever forget.
If you noticed, the word "black" is written in bold. This is because, after Obama became the President, people started digging into his life to see if he lived the lifestyle stereotyped to be Black. For instance, if he has baby mamas, smoked weed etc. This was a little insulting to the African American community. Certian pictures such as these were all over the internet:
The only thing that they could find about him was smoking weed. Almost every teen can testify that they have tried weed at a certain time of their life. But the media did not stop there, they had to take it to the extreme with this picture below.
They also made it seem that he was checking out a younger female. Society already sees an African American man as being sexually hyperactive, and it almost looked convincing because she has a "big booty". It was a good thing it was caught on video to prove his innocence.
Furthermore, some men in Canada and America are known to have a glass of beer after a hard day of work, or hanging out with their guy friends while watching a game (Its quite a norm right?). When Obama was seen taking beer during some events, I guess some people felt there had to be an alcoholic inside of him hiding. So a picture above came to be. This is quite insulting, in the sense that normally people say that black men are useless (a picture says a thousand words). As you can see, the First Lady is looking angry but well put together, while Obama looks drunk. This picture says a lot of things
Lastly, when Obama was elected President every African American and practically the whole world was rejoicing because they never knew he would win and they were also happy to see what a black man can do for the country. But later on, people started saying that Obama is not fully black, some were even saying that he wasn't black, that instead he was mixed. i am not going to say much, but when a child is born into a family with an African background and Caucasian person, what do they say the child is? (Drum roll..........) The answer is Black.
Please I would like to hear your point of views on this.
Empower Gender Equality
This is nothing new to anyone unless you have been leaving under a rock. Men have always been superior to women and taken more seriously. This would be explained further in different department below.
Work Industry: According to society a woman's job is to be at home taking care of her husband and children, while a man is the head of the family and he should be the one providing the income to sustain the family. Jobs are more likely to hire male than female employees. This is because they feel men are more dedicated to their jobs than women. For instance, women who start a job working full time and giving it their all does not really last for long. They tend to have a family along the way which would require them to leave work for a while to take care of their new born baby and children that are not old enough to take care of themselves.
Some women leave work to take care of their children because their income is not enough to hire a nanny to care of the child or to send them to daycare. How do they expect women to take care of their family and work at the same time (especially single mothers) when they are paid a minimum wage.
( taken from www.unfpa.org )
http://www.statcan.gc.ca/subjects-sujets/labour-travail/lfs-epa/t100312a1-eng.htm
A woman can apply for the same job that a man would and spend the same hours that he would, but at the end of the month, she would be paid a lot less than him.
At home: A man is the head of the home and I cannot argue with that, but there is a little problem when a man does not acknowledge the effort a woman puts into taking care and making sure that everything at home is ok. Society does not see it as work, they believe it is expected of women.
To raise a child first of all takes a lot of work and keeping the household clean, doing laundry, cooking and keeping the family happy is not an easy job. Some men find it really hard to help out at home because they feel it makes them less of a man and it's a job for women only. Now this brings up the question that are women brought into this world to be slaves (serve the need of men)? That is something that should be looked into.
The only household that a woman is entitled to do whatever she pleases or take control is when she is the bread winner, in the sense that the man is not able to get a job or he is lazy (this only works in some households, some men would never allow their women to make them takecare of the home eventhough they are not bringing in any income, which might result into a divorce).
Education: While growing up I observed that teachers for some reason are dissapointed when a boy is not to smart or especially when a girl has a highest grade in class. For instance, If a boy gets all straight As, his family, friends and teacher would be happy for him, but when it is a girl, they are very excited for her (as if they were suprised that she could acommplish such). It basically creates low selfesteem for the female students, which is not the way to raise a child.
Conclusion: basically, what I am saying is not for women to fight with men or compete in order to prove them wrong, but to be aware of what is going on and if we work together, we can find a way to change society's views.
